Well, I had a few issues with “The Girl Who Waited,” but Phoebe North talked about them more and better here. In short: the Doctor knowingly deceived Old Amy in order to save Young Amy, and he wittingly sacrificed her without really looking into any other options.
That’s not the Doctor I know and love. The Doctor loves complications like two versions...
